All Alone

18th December

The SMS was sent at 5 something in the morning. I was posted to NJC. It was my first choice. I was on my way to Singapore from Malaysia when my mother read the message. I was dying to know if Pui Yee, Hui Wen, Yun Yu and Alicia got in too.

Not long after I reached the house in Singapore, I received a call from Moneshaa. She asked me to meet her at the traffic light junction at about 10:30a.m. She got into MGS. Sad... We will be separated. At 10:30a.m, Moneshaa called and said that she already arrived. I was still at home. My mother needed to go to Keming to get some documents signed. I didn't know that I had to be in the school uniform. At least I had a reason.

When we arrived in the school, I was happy to see friends there. But I was shocked to find that no one else except me was going to NJC. Not even Hui Wen. Seems like I have to make many new friends in NJC.

19th December

I woke up at 7 something and wore Keming uniform and ate breakfast. My father drove my mother and I to NJC. They told me which buses I could take and which bus stop to get down. We reached the school. We had to register so we went to 'schools starting with letters D-L' I was the only person from Keming and confirmed. I took the stack of paper and entered the LT room. We sat down and examined the paper. I can take third language-French. LOL. I put it as first choice. I need to go to either MOELC or Gimmoh to learn. The learning is FOC but the materials(like books) costs like $120. So expensive. My mother was afraid that I could not cope with it. I also wish that I can have a trial lesson or something so I know how the lesson is like and I can decide whether to take it or not.

While my father queued up to ask some questions after they gave us an introduction or something, my mother and I went to queue up to buy the uniform. It was Bibi and Baba again... Like Keming. I think the uniform looks weird on me because the moment I wore it at home(to try on), my younger sister burst out laughing. I did not know how I looked like but my younger sister laughs at things that are not funny sometimes. LOL. We only need to purchase 4 textbooks. Which means we only had 4 textbooks. We already had to buy sec 2 maths textbook. I guess this is what an IP school is like...

Squeeeeeeak!

There I was, watching The Little Nyonya in my house in Malaysia. No story can be more tragic than that. I was wondering who came up with the tragic tale. Then, it was time for the advertisements. I got up from the sofa and went to drink water. On my way to my water bottle, I saw something run into the utility room. Initially, I thought it was a monkey or something. Then, I thought that it might be a monkey, rat or a cat. I told my siblings who shouted to my mother the minute I told them about it. My mother came. She said that it was most probably a rat. I agree, because it does make more sense. My mother tried to look for it to chase it out. She took out some stuff from the room make the search easier. After a few minutes, my mother could not find anything. I started to think that I was seeing things. Maybe my eyes were playing a trick on me. My siblings and I went back to watch The Little Nyonya.

A few more minutes passed and we heard our mother scream. She said she saw it---the rat. The next thing to do was to chase the rat out of our house. My mother told me to get a bamboo pole. I obediently obeyed. After a while, my mother gave up. She took out some more things from the room and shut the door. Then, she went to shut the window that was facing the wet kitchen too. Next, my mother called my father to tell him about the uninvited guest. Within seconds, my father arrived home. (My mother called when my father was arriving) My father got into the room for a while and got out. Then, my mother came out from the wet kitchen and said that there were 2 different cats (came at different time) which came to the window, most probably to find that rat. My mother said that we should have just left that window open so the cat can deal with the rat. But we didn’t open it.

My mother called the pest control (comes every 2 months to spray something) and checked if getting rid of rats is included apart from the spraying. It wasn’t included but they do help get rid of rats, of course with extra cost. My mother said that they would use glue or something to get that rat stuck in order to get rid of it.

My mother said that the rat must have been chased by the cats and that’s why it ran so fast to escape from death. But it chose the wrong place to go. I started to think that I was the one who cause the rat its death.

The next morning, my mother said that the people from pest control will come tomorrow. My mother was worried and thought that the rat would have cause a lot of mess by tomorrow.

My mother called us to take a look at the rat from the window in the wet kitchen. The rat was kinda cute. I felt sorry for it. Its fate is sealed. It’s gonna be dead. My mother said it was disgusting because she was already frustrated and complained that the room will be in a total mess.

My mother went out to find a rat cage. She wanted to catch the rat. She could not wait till tomorrow. In the end, she came back empty-handed. She needed to decide if she should really buy the cage which cost RM12. The person who sold it recommended the glue.

But still, I hope that the rat will be released back to the wild. I don’t want it killed…

After lunch, my mother and my younger sister went out to get the cage. They came back with a holey cage (of course the holes are not so big for the rat to escape). My mother put a piece of salted fish on the trap in the cage. After checking that the rat is nowhere near the door, she put the cage inside. Within minutes, we heard some noise coming from the room. I went to the window to check whether the rat was trapped. Indeed it was. My mother took it out from the room, which is now smelly and filled with the rat’s poo. The rat was struggling to get out. My mother put it on the grass in the backyard.

A few minutes later, my siblings and I went to look at the rat. It looked depressed and tired. It only had a piece of salted fish and no water. We studied so hard for PSLE and I expect all of you know what this means… A rat receives only air and food. It does not have food. It’s doomed. My siblings and I sympathised it. We wanted to give it water. But our mother hates that rat. She doesn’t want us to give it water. She thinks it’s silly to give water to a pest that made a mess in our house. So, we didn’t provide the rat with water. I hope it can still survive. If the pest control comes tomorrow to collect the rat, I hope they don’t kill it.

My brother said, “Bye bye, Mousey. I named it Mousey.” My younger sister said, “Bye bye! I will see you again in heaven next time.”

The mouse is dying now and only my mother is happy. My younger sister is hopping around shouting, “Rain! Rain! Rain!” I think I will secretly give the rat some water. I hope my mother won’t find out if not I will have to clear the rat poo in the utility room.
I just came back from giving the rat water. My mother spotted me. She is asking me to pick the poo from the utility room. I am not gonna do it. The rat was simply delighted when I spilled the water for it. My younger siblings were begging my mother to let us keep hamsters. My mother said that we will also have to pick up the poo in the cage. My mother also said that it will be stinky. My younger sister objected and said that the smell is nicer than my mother’s perfume.

Lastly, I hope that the rat wouldn’t be killed. If it dies, I hope the reason is because of old age.

Approx. 3.45p.m, 05/12/08
The rat is dead.

Last Week

Time really flies. It will be the last week at Keming for P6s. With the prize presentation ceremony and some other events, we only have 3 days at school for our final week at Keming. These last 3 days, I will definitely appreciate. 13th November would probably be the last day I meet my friends at school. I know that there's the results day, but I will reach school in the afternoon to collect my results because I will come back from Macau/Hong Kong in the afternoon. If the time for us to collect our results in the afternoon, I will be delighted!

I will surely miss my friends. All of them. Friends and foes. I hope we do keep in touch. I will always remember ALL of you!

Little India Heritage Trail

The trip was not very fun. The tour guide was talking too much. She didn't even let us off on the bus.

Here's how the whole trip went on:

We waited for more about an hour from 7.30a.m before we got on the bus at about 8.30p.m. The guide was talking, talking, talking for the whole trip which took approxmately 20-30 minutes. When we reached Little India, we got down the bus and had to stand outside the exit of the MRT station for ages listening to the guide talk.

After the endless talk, we walked to a place near the shophouses where the guide used Faye as a model to show us how to wear the sari. Then, we walked to a temple. There was too many students from different schools there so we could not get into the temple.

We went to an Indian vegetarian restaurant. The guide bought some Indian food for us to taste. Moneshaa bought some sort of rice dough doughnut or something. It tasted gingerly but I was told that there wasn't any ginger in it. I was not used to Indian food so I took out some snacks I brought I started snacking. Soon, we left the restaurant.

We were brought to the bazaar. Given about 15 minutes to shop, I went off with Mo. Many girls wnated Henna. I was in a dilemma whether to do Henna or not. In the end, I didn't. There was a stall selling stuff like 'Pop' and sprays which contained fluffy or squishy stuff. Many people bought those sprays and started spraying their friends which ended up kinda disastrous. Even more people bought the peacock feather sticks.

15 minutes went past quick and we soon boarded the bus. In the whole bus trip, the guide was talking, talking, talking. After the heritage trail, we still had to do a worksheet. I think it was suppose to be a solo work but everyone ended up sharing answers. I guess... That's what friends are for?

If there are any points or part of the heritage trail missing, please forgive me as I have bad memory lately and spent quite a lot of time for this post. Thank you.

Wordless

Here I am sitting down, not knowing what to type. This blog, is much ignored, with very few people visiting. Maybe it's just because I didn't type many posts. Maybe it's because there's more commotion in the other blog. Maybe, maybe. What else can I say? Nothing. I don't have the ability to post anything interesting here. So maybe you all think it's boring here and don't even bother to just come here and check whether there's even any new messages on the tagboard, although there really isn't much. So, bye, for now.

Hi!

Phew! I finally finished changing the EXTREMELY SQUEEZY blogskin. I hope this is better. If you ask me whether I am going anywhere for holidays this June, my answer is "no." So, don't bother asking. If you ask me if I am going anywhere in the December holidays(ask after PSLE), my answer is 'Definitely! I will go... ..." LOL. I really hope to say that when it comes to December holidays. I am quite sick of this holiday already. Homework, homework, homework. Sighs. I gotta go(play computer games =P)!

Sunday, 18 May 2008

Hi!

Hello, friends! I have changed the blogskin. I know it is quite congested... Squeezy, that is. Finally, SA1 ended but I still can't relax; there's PSLE. Are you going anywhere during the June holidays? I don't think I am, not because of exams.
Those people who said that I have 2 blogs for nothing, FINE.
Now, I shall type different posts on the blogs. If you still think that both blogs have the same posts, I am sure some of you will not come here. If you miss anything I type in my blog, it is your problem. I bet some of you won't even get to read this post.

NAPFA test

YAHOO! I think I can get gold for NAPFA this year! I got a 'C' for all the test items. I was most worried about my standing broad jump, so I trained a few times before time. Our class was askede to go to the sit-ups stations first. Yay, I broke my own record, with 43 sit-ups in a minute. Later, I tried to queue up for the unclined pull-up but Moneshaa did not agree, so we went to the sit and reach station first. I stretched all I could and for the first try, I stretched 36cm. Passed 'C' again, but I did a second time and got 37cm. Then, we went to the shuttle run station. I ran 11.76 seconds. Hmm... The floor was actually quite slippery though I took off my shoes, but I would be going for another round after the other stations. After shuttle run, I went to face one of my weakness ----- standing broad jump. Adeline was overjoyed because she jumped 209cm. I asked her to teach me how to jump. If I can get gold, I would treat her a drink. So off I went, after the short 1/2 minute lesson from Adeline. I JUMP! 160cm! Yes! Yes! I only need 150cm to get 'C' and above. The teacher wanted me to take a second try, so I simply jump and jumped 158cm. I was too happy to bother above the difference. The station that stole my chance to achieve gold for NAPFA last year is defeated! Hahaha... Moneshaa and I have quite a high chance to achieve gold for NAPFA. next station was a hard one too, inclined pull-up. I pulled with all my might and when I reached 10, I purposely stopped. I did not want to force myself to do too many or stress myself up. Moneshaa was not very confident with herself, so Adeline told her to do 20 sit-ups first. Moneshaa went to try her pull-ups but could merely do 1. So, off we went to retest shuttle run, as we were not very satisfied with our results. I run all I could, and took 11.00 seconds. At least it was better than the previous try. Moneshaa went back to the pull-up station, but still could not do much, and the strict teacher wrote '2' in the first-try column.
I told my mum that I would be home by 2:45p.m, but I was already 1-hour late. So, I decided to head home. I wished Moneshaa good luck and set home with a bottle of apple juice which I promised to get for myself as a reward if I achieved gold.

Melaka Trip

LOL. The Melaka trip was FUN! (sort of)

7th Marh 2008

I woke up at 5:30 a.m. I must reach before 6:20a.m. The bus is going at 6:40a.m. Soon, all the pupils who were going in our class arrived. We were the first class to get into the bus and go. We first took a Singapore bus. A few minutes later, we arrived at the Tuas checkpoint. We checked our passports and after that, we went for a toilet break. Then, we headed for the Malaysia checkpoint. I have a Malaysian passport so I did not need a stamp on my passport. After everybodys' passport were checked, we waited for a Malaysia bus. After standing for very long, the bus arrived. We then took the bus all the way to Yong Peng for breakfast.
(The picture on the further side is the Singapore bus. The picture nearer here is the Malaysia bus.)

After we arrived at the station, we went buying stuff. I ate a double scoop peppermint ice-cream for breakfast. LOL. After that, many people went buying chewing or bubble gums. I bought a packet of chewing gums. After that, we headed for Melaka. (Picture of us playing card games on the left.)

After a long bus ride, we arrived at OGCC. (I wonder what it stands for.) We had our lunch there. The food was yummy! After that, we went to a shop which was famous and name was 'Tan Kim Hock'(most probably named after the person who founded it). I bought a lollipop and some marshmallows. Then, we went to Yok Bin Primary School. Most of the pupils there don't speak English. They speak Chinese. After asking the pupils a few questions, we toured round the school. The facilities of the school was not as good as ours, so try to treasure schooling days in Singapore. After that, we went to visit a Chinese temple. The street itself had 3 temples, 1 Chinese temple, 1 Malay temple and 1 Hindu temple. The street was called 'Harmony Street' because all three different races' temples were there. After that, we went to A Famosa. There were many historical structures which were built hundreds of years ago. On the way there, there were many road side stalls. Many of the girls paid RM5 for a necklace with their names on it. I made one too. After that, we were very, very, very tired. But, we cannot go to the hotel yet, we need to have our dinner first. After deciding very long, I bought noodles and a glass of apple jucie too. After that, all the boys went to the playground. After that, we finally reached the Legacy Hotel. I shared room with Shamini and Moneshaa. Our room number was 816. I was in charge of the room keys. YAY! We were OVER EXICITED. We put our stuff down. Our room was near the lift lobby, so we heard people going in and out of the lift. Then, we heard familiar noises. It was Zhi Yong and Yun Yu. 3 of us rushed out to welcome them----- WITHOUT THE ROOM KEYS. "BANG" the door went. That's it. We were stuck outside our room. 3 of us started panicking. "Oh no, oh no..." we went. "The keys are all inside! We are stuck!"I said. "Stop joking, quickly open up the door," Zhi Yong said. We conviced him that we really did not have the key. Upon looking on our worried expressions, he belived us. He and Yun Yu went down to get help for us. Mo and Shamini were mumbling and shouting, like chaos. I kept calm, as there surely would be a spare key for every room. After that, Zhi Yong and Yun Yu came back. They said that we needed to go down to claim the spare key. I guarded the door, while Mo and Shamini went down. Soon, they came back with the key. We went in and heaved a sigh of relief. Shamini went down to return the key while we started to get ready for our bath. Shamini came back and she wanted to take her bath first. So, we agreed. Suddenly we saw a person's face showing on the window. One glance and I could recognise this person.(this person's identity would be protected) Mo thought it was a crazy person.

After our bath, we went to the conference room. I was in the same group as Shamini, Jia Jun, Jun Meng and Brandon. After the group work and presentations, we were told about what we could do and what we could not do. As for the person who climbed out of the emergency window, the person was scolded by the principal because some girls reported to the teachers. After the 'meeting' we went back to our room to sleep. Mo set her handphone alarm at 6:45 a.m, which I thought was too early, since breakfast was at 8:30a.m. I slept at about 12:30 a.m. Please don't be surprised by the time I slept.

8th March 2008

*Yawn* So tired. After realsing that I have not brush my teeth last night, I scrambled to the toilet to brush them. After we packed our things and got ready, we went down for breakfast at The Coffee House. Wah, so many nice food...

After breakfast, Mrs Leong checked our rooms before we leave the wonderful hotel. Off we went on the same bus as yesterday. We went to Lucky Garden restaurant, at the same place we stopped in Yong Peng. The lunch was great and I was eating happily. Many of us, including me, bought ice cream after lunch. Then, we headed to Zen Xin Organic Farm. We called it Zheng Xin's farm because the name sounded like his. LOL.
(Picture on the right is the table where we ate our lunch.)

It was burning hot in the farm. Our hair was black, so it conducts a lot of heat. I bet we can fry eggs on our own heads.
After the farm visit, we headed for home. I call this trip too short! Can we have a longer one?

Soon, we reached the Tuas checkpoint. So sad, reaching home already. After the checking of passports, we went back to Keming.

*Sian* I have to walk home alone. There was no one at home too. Fortunately, after a while, my parents and siblings came home to extinguish my boredom.

I enjoyed the Melaka Trip though, and hope that there would be more trip like that in future.

It's not me!

I saw my tagboard and for your information, if you are really a passerby, or you know meor whatever, I am not the one who's complaining about Esther. Whoever she is, she is. It's none of my business. And again, it's not me who complained.
